The Island House is a 1,000 square foot home built in 1968. My parents purchased the home in 1976 and it's been in the family since they moved into the house. We have since completely gutted the entire interior of the home and remodeled in a "Coastal" style to "like new" status. We added a new commode, tile shower, plumbing, a/c, French doors, hardwood floors, sheetrock, plantation shutters, paint and furniture. There are two bedrooms and one bath.  The smaller bedroom is approximately 12x12 and has a queen-sized bed. the larger bedroom is approximately 12x16 and has two sets of bunk beds. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans. The living room sofa has a full-sized pull out bed. Appliances in the kitchen include dishwasher, frig, stove, oven, microwave, disposal and cable TV. The front porch is screened and has a dining table and chairs. the dining area has a table that will seat six comfortably, with additional seating at the bar. The back porch is covered with perimeter bench seating. Downstairs is a storeroom that has a working sink, commode, washing machine and dryer. The backyard is fenced and all grass with an orange tree, mesquite tree, oak tree and lime tree. The front yard has a brick paved garden seating area landscaped with hibiscus, bougainvillea and royal plumbago.

The Island House is not on a canal. The front faces Aransas bay (East). There are canal homes and Bay Shore Drive between the front of the Island House and Aransas Bay. The prevailing southeasterly breeze is felt coming off of Aransas Bay on the front porch. From the back there is a limited view of Little Bay.

The Key Allegro swimming pool is two blocks away on Mazatlan. Our family walks when its not too hot. As guests of Island House, you will have access to the pool. the Paradise Key Bar & Grill and the Key Allegro marina are located next to the swimming pool. Public boat rams are conveniently located throughout Rockport and Fulton. The nearest boat ramp is at the Rockport Beach Park (about a two mile drive), and it is free. Rockport Beach is also great for kids or play and relaxation. The waves are small all of the time, there's almost no current and you can go out a long way without ever getting too deep.
